Regulation

Regulation

The regulator is BBFC (British Board of Film Classification)

The age rating of The Lego Movie is U (universal). This is to appeal to the target audience younger children and families. This means that it is appropriate for anybody of any ages. No content is offensive in any way and it does not replicate real life so cannot influence younger children. No real discrimination or real violence either.

Films are regulated by age certification as said by the website because: "We believe that adults should be free to watch what they want to, so long as it’s within the law. But we also have a responsibility, when absolutely necessary, to restrict content that could otherwise cause harm to adults and society as a whole."

FUN FACTS

- Warner Bros produced Friends and the shows use real live studio audience laughter, no machines included. Plus it is free to be part of the audience - laughing.

- Since real life is full of outside sounds like cars, birds, wind and so on, producers need to get creative with how they emphasise sounds on set. When it comes to the footsteps of the actor, rather than hearing the footsteps of the actor themselves, you're actually hearing any stage man available put into heals and walking across the floor of the house. Picture that next time you see (or rather hear) a pretty actress walking down her porch steps for her first date. It's really just a grown man in heels.

- In The Lego Film there is no mention of the word lego.
